Reviews

We confirmed Increase Blake as an Ancestor and we are in possession of the Bible referenced in this book. It's our understanding Increase Blake was one of the 50 colonist that dressed up as a Mohawk Indian, boarded the British ships and through tea over board at the Boston Tea Party. Contrary to the story in this book, it's our understanding, based on stories passed down through the family, the Bible was "X'ed" by a British Officer as that Officer was escorted off one of the ships during the Boston Tea Party. Increase Blake's wife was sitting at the bottom of the Gang Plank reading from the Bible in her lap when the British Officer said he'd give her something to remember this evening by. He drew his sword and hit the Bible twice in an "X" pattern. The Bible was passed down through the family to Ella Blake who was married to my Great Grandfather Elliot A. Knowlton; then to George Blake who was my Grandfather; then to Harold G. Knowlton who was my Father; then to Harold G. Knowlton II and Andrew Blake Knowlton (my brother). This is documented in newspaper articles that are also in our possession. We'd like to update the genealogy in the book. Any assistance to this end is greatly appreciated. Contact Harold G. Knowlton II at halknowlton@hotmail.com.
